Apple only requires screenshots for the largest display in each device family — the App Store auto-scales them down for smaller devices. For iPhone that is the 6.9" display; for iPad it is the 13" display. You no longer need to upload a separate set for every screen size.
App Store screenshot sizes (2026)
Upload one iPhone set at the 6.9" display size and, for iPad apps, one iPad set at the 13" display size. Apple accepts any of the resolutions below for each required slot.

File format and technical rules
- Formats: PNG, JPG, or JPEG (no progressive/interlaced JPG)
- Color space: RGB (MagicScreenshots exports sRGB)
- Max file size: up to 500 MB per screenshot
- Transparency: flatten any alpha channel — the App Store expects opaque screenshots
- Orientation: portrait and landscape use the same pixel counts with width and height swapped; upload screenshots that match how your app is used

Every generated screenshot is a 1290 × 2796 px PNG in sRGB. Apple accepts 1290 × 2796 for the required 6.9" slot and renders it on all iPhone sizes, so a single MagicScreenshots set is upload-ready for the App Store without resizing.
How many screenshots can you upload?
- 1 to 10 screenshots per localization.
- The first 2–3 matter most — they are the ones shown in App Store search results and on the product page before a user taps "see all".
- Most apps ship 4–6 to cover their key features.
Content rules Apple enforces
- Screenshots must accurately represent the actual in-app experience.
- No pricing claims or "Free" badges burned into the image.
- Nothing that imitates iOS system UI or device hardware in a misleading way.
- Content must suit your age rating.
